Senior Vice President and Global Director of Digital, Technology and Innovation

Julia McGillis is the Global Director of Digital, Technology and Innovation for Marsh & McLennan’s (MMC’s) Strategic Solutions Group. In this role, she leads collaborative efforts across Marsh, Guy Carpenter, Mercer, and Oliver Wyman to deliver client solutions in emerging sectors such as Blockchain, cyber, the sharing economy, and visual intelligence. Her efforts include the 2017 launch of MMC’s global Visual Intelligence Services, leveraging drone, satellite, aerial, street view imagery, and indoor video capture overlaid with advanced algorithms and proprietary software delivery tools. This imagery provides a new source of objective facts, actionable information, and insights for risk management and strategic planning purposes and was used extensively in Hurricane Harvey, Irma and Maria.

Previously, Julia worked with Oliver Wyman, Yahoo Inc. (US), RBC Dominion Securities (Canada) and Rudolf Wolff & Co. (UK). Julia received a Bachelor’s of Commerce (honors) from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Bringing decades of experience, including as CEO with multiple high growth companies, Bill joined Aeryon in 2017. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Masternaut, an SaaS-based telematics and Mobile Resource Management solutions company, where he served as CEO in early 2015. From 2010 to 2013, Bill was CEO of Actix, a provider of mobile optimization software, which he joined in 2007 as a member of its Board of Directors. Earlier in his career, he served as CEO of DSET Corporation, a provider of telecommunications software, and as CEO of Cerebus Solutions, an artificial intelligence platform developer. Bill was a business major at Villanova University before serving in the U.S. Navy and reaching the rank of Lieutenant. He is a Vietnam veteran.

Senior Advisor, Innovation and Technology

Gretchen West serves as Senior Advisor focusing on Innovation and Technology at Hogan Lovells and is a member of the firm’s Global Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Group in Silicon Valley. Gretchen is also a leading policy advocate in the firm’s Government Regulatory practice group, with a focus on drone technology, automated driving and other global initiatives and innovative technologies. Gretchen also serves as co-executive director of the non-profit Commercial Drone Alliance and is a founder of the Women of Commercial Drones group.

Gretchen has served the unmanned systems and drone industry over a decade and is an industry-leading advocate for commercial drones, innovation, entrepreneurship and robotics. Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Gretchen was at San Francisco start-up DroneDeploy serving as the company’s Vice President of Business Development and Regulatory Affairs. Previously, for over a decade, Gretchen served as AUVSI’s Executive Vice President, overseeing AUVSI’s global business development initiatives, international growth strategy, marketing, government relations and advocacy efforts for the unmanned systems and robotics industry. Gretchen and her team at AUVSI were at the forefront of advocating for the safe, timely and responsible integration of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) into the National Airspace System. She also served as the AUVSI member on the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) UAS Study Group, which was tasked with creating a roadmap for the global integration of UAS.

Gretchen has been interviewed by over 100 print and TV media outlets including NBC, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, Fortune, Forbes, Politico, The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, The Washington Post and National Public Radio. She has also testified before a congressional panel on issues related to unmanned systems, presented at congressional briefings and has presented keynote addresses and panel presentations at over 100 industry conferences and events across the globe.

Gretchen currently is the National Advisory Board Chairperson for UAVUS (uavus.org) and is the chair of the Advisory Board for the Drone World Expo. Previously, she served on the advisory boards for Skyward, Nightingale Intelligent Systems and Aerobo. She was formerly a member of Women in Aerospace (WIA) and the Association for Women Executives and Entrepreneurs (AWE). Gretchen has an MBA from the George Washington University and a BA in leadership studies from the University of Richmond.

Mr. Koby Tanzer is a Sr. Vice President and Head of the firm’s Israel Group. Mr. Tanzer has been a member of Imperial Capital’s Security Practice Group since 2008. In addition to spearheading the effort to launch Imperial’s UAV/UAS banking coverage effort, he focuses on a range of corporate finance transactions for companies across the broader security sector.

Prior to joining Imperial Capital, Mr. Tanzer was an Analyst in Lehman Brothers’ Investment Banking Division focusing on business service companies and financial sponsors. While at Lehman Brothers, Mr. Tanzer worked on M&A advisory, leveraged finance and equity underwriting transactions.

Mr. Tanzer received his B.A. in Business Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He served in the Israel Defense Force’s Combat Engineering Corps as an Infantry Sapper and is an active member of his Regional Search & Rescue Team.

Before founding USBX, Mr. Mack served as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Protection One, Inc., the second largest security alarm monitoring business in North America and a party to approximately 200 M&A/Finance transactions. Mr. Mack earned a B.A. from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles.
